Spirit Animal Exhibition - 11/4/11
I am excited to announce the "Spirit Animal" show, a group art exhibition at the White Rabbit's White Box, 145 East Houston Street in NYC! This is a show that I have curated under the Blood Dumpster Art Collective (as well as brought on some great friends to join in the show).

This idea for the "Spirit Animal" exhibition came to me over a year ago, and after searching for the perfect venue, I came across the White Rabbit's White Box, and the lovely Samantha Levin. It was a fortunate find, and now the Spirit Animal show that has been in the works for so long has a whole two month run at this great spot in the East Village!

Opening Reception: November 4, 2011 7-10pm.

A portion of the proceeds from art sales will be donated to one of my favorite non profit organizations: The World Wildlife Fund.

Working Hard
Feb. 2nd 2011

This year has already been a productive one in terms of art. Which is great, because that means I am sticking to my New Year's Resolution! :)
I am working hard on a new series. The first of which is complete (check her out in the "Works on Paper" section of my website). "My Precious" is a piece that I am totally proud of, and I am eager to paint her some friends. This is all in a big effort to put together a body of work for an upcoming exhibition at Jadite Gallery in NYC. That will be this coming April, and I'll post more details as the date approaches.

Till then, happy painting!!

American Red Cross Mural
About a month ago, I entered into a contest to design a mural for the American Red Cross. My mural was not only chosen, but it was chosen with an overwhelming vote! There were 3 winners, as there are actually 3 spaces for murals at the Red Cross Headquarters in New York City. Mine was chosen to be painted nearest to the street, which I am very excited about. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to have an outdoor mural of my artwork in NYC. So, I am thrilled that it is coming true!

It's still a work in progress, but please stop by and check it out on W49th street and 10th ave, just a bit further west of 10th ave. There will be an unveiling ceremony which I will announce as the date approaches!

"Renovation" at Behr-Thyssen Gallery
An exhibit of illustrations, paintings, photography and sculpture. The show focuses on analyzing the works from the Renaissance and presenting them in a contemporary context. Few periods of art have held quite the impact as the Renaissance, whether it Twas learning from the techniques of rendering and composition to even a complete rebellion against it.

The show will explore this theme through various mediums and through the many distinct voices of the Blood Dumpster art collective. Often dark or harsh, the artists' works paint a very different picture of what the Renaissance means to the moment of now.

Date: Saturday, May 10, 2008
Time: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Behr-Thyssen Gallery
Street: 165 Hudson Street
City/Town: New York, NY

NOLA VOLUNTEER WORK
DECEMBER 6-9, 2007

I will be going down to New Orleans with ACCESS@American Jewish Committee and City Year to help in rebuilding Fannie C. Williams School, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. I am very excited for this project, as I have been wanting to do more than just donate money to New Orleans. It's been over 2 years since the hurricane made impact on New Orleans, and there is still massive damage to the area.

I will be taking pictures and may start a photography folder on my website to keep everyone posted. Thanks so much to the AJC for having me on this trip (though I am not Jewish, I have immense respect for the religion, as well as for this organization).

Art For Fire
ART FOR FIRE is an organization that Olivia Williams,Diane Desimone, and I have started in hopes of raising money for the California Wildfire Victims.

Our mission is to get artists to donate their artwork, which we will sell through our websites: www.artforfire.com, and www.artforfire.pledgepage.org. ALL of the proceeds will go to the Red Cross. Originally it was to help the California Wildfire victims, but as of this weekend, we have been told that the immediate funds needed to help with the disasters in California have been met. However there is still a lot that needs to be recovered, and we will be donating some of the money towards extended relief funds for Southern California. Because of this news, we have decided to branch out our mission, and continue with the fundraiser, and begin collecting funds for the people in Tabasco Mexico as well, whom the floods have affected. When we started “Art for Fire” our mission was to help people affected by the wildfires. We are simply extending that and reaching further with our efforts to help people caught in the devastation of other natural disasters. And we intend to keep that promise.

Also, another addition to Art for Fire is a musical branch. We are now taking music donations, which should be emailed to me at kristenterrana@yahoo.com. We will make an Art for Fire CD, which will be for sale on the website as soon as the songs have been selected.

This is all very exciting, and things are moving very fast, so please don't
hesitate to visit www.artforfire.com to learn the latest about our fundraiser!

Thanks,
Kristen Terrana

NOVEMBER ART SHOWS.....3 of them!!!!
I am extremely proud to say that I will be showing work in three different locations this November. As the "Almost Famous" Penny Lane says "It's all happening!!!"

First up: "Dreams at Drew's" Group Show. NOVEMBER 10th.
Drew's Place--- 100 Forsyth. It is right next to the park on Chrystie Street in the Lower East Side). Unfortunately I will be out of town for this opening, but I would love for everyone to go and see some of my new artwork and give support to my fellow SVA alumni and dear friedns who also have work up.

Then, at PIE. NOVEMBER 14th.
I will be exhibiting work with my good friend Olivia Williams. PIE is located on 4th ave between 12th adn 13th street. Please come by to have some food, check out the art, and learn more about upcoming events. (The owner, Jeffery is an art enthusiast and plans to do some great things for NY artists very soon...more info on this to come).

And lastly, November 17th, I'll be part of a group show at Java Street Studios in Greenpoint (off of Manhattan Av). This is always a blast, and every time it seems that it gets more and more exciting, so I am honored to be a part of this show!

I hope to see you all at some of these events (hopefully all of em!).

Thanks so much for your support!

Hello Everyone!
Hi, I am Kristen Terrana, and I can't begin to say how excited I am to FINALLY have a website! I am so impressed by otherpeoplespixels.com; thanks so much for coming up with this. It has been a year since I graduated from School of Visual Arts, and I was beginning to worry that another year would go by without me having a website! My worries are long gone thanks to this!

I am still getting used to how everything works, and will be perfecting this website over the next few weeks so bear with me. I just wanted to say hello, and WELCOME, and enjoy. I hope you like my work. I am very open to hearing any comments, questions, critiques and praise. hehe. For now you can contact me at kristenterrana@yahoo.com
